from Boone. Grandfather Mountain is a
world-famous nature preserve, and many thousands
of visitors come each year to enjoy 360 degree
views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains
from the mile-high swinging bridge. In addition,
visitors can see several different species of
native wildlife in their natural habitats,
including black bears, cougars, river otters,
bald and golden eagles, and white-tail deer.
