Banner Elk is in
Avery County North Carolina, just by the Tennessee
state line. Banner
Elk has an enjoyable climate due to its

Mountain is known for it’s long trails and 115 skiable acres. Sugar Mountain offers many
activities for families including ice skating,
snowshoeing, and tubing. Appalachian Ski Mountain
is located in Boone NC, and provides a family atmosphere for beginner skiers. Appalachian is
equipped with the best man-made snowmaking
capabilities in the Southeast, and can make
nearly 3 feet in a matter of two evenings.
